Heroin Abuse -
It is ironic
that the diseases a person gets from Heroin Abuse is not really
cause by heroin per se but the medium in which they use heroin,
like needles. Needle sharing is the key factor for getting HIV
and Hepatitis C. The injection can cause allergic reactions to
one's body leading to grave damages in one's body. In spite of
the warnings and information being distributed, many still used
heroin to make one feel good. Heroin Abuse is one of society's
major problems that they are combating. Heroin addiction does
not only have negative effects on the person alone but also to
the environment and community, which he lives in. The arrival of
heroin addiction has increase the crime rates and the number of
criminals who also used drugs.
Heroin like
any drugs, affects the brain and the way one thinks. The
person's behavior changes as soon as the heroin hits the brain.
Some behavioral changes include restlessness, lost of appetite,
being sleepy all the time and refusal to go to work or school.
Heroin Abuse directly affects the person's family members who
are hurt by the violent actions of the heroin addict in the
family.
Heroin
addiction is considered by many as a disease. But if we look
closely heroin addiction and Heroin Abuse brings about diseases
but its addiction is not the disease per se. Speaking of
diseases, a heroin user will have to endure health problems like
liver-related and chronic illness, if they use heroin for a long
period of time. As a person keeps on using heroin, the end
result is not only limited to getting these diseases but also
tolerance and dependency on the heroin. The more Heroin Abuse,
one has, the more craving and dependency develops. Heroin may
give a person a temporary escape from the cruel world, but it
enslaves them forever to a world like pandemonium. |
